Church Opening for services in Hallwood Parish

Church Opening for services in Hallwood Parish

St.Mark’s and Bethesda will be open for services

at 10.30am

on most Sunday mornings

beginning on Sunday 19 July

You will find that the services are quite different from what we are used to. In order to comply with the current regulations for keeping people safe, we thought it may be helpful to give you some details in advance.

Please DO NOT attend church if you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19

If you develop symptoms after attending church,

please let the Parish Administrator know

on 01928 716050 or at

A list of names and contact details of those attending services will be made each week and retained for 21 days. This is in line with government guidance to assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed for contact tracing and the investigation of local outbreaks.

P.T.O. à

  • Please maintain social distancing in the car park before and after the service
  • Please do not congregate at the door or in the entrance hall / lounge
  • Wash your hands / use the sanitiser provided on entering church
  • Sadly, hugging, shaking hands and sharing of The Peace are not permitted at the moment
  • There is restricted seating to allow for social distancing so seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis
  • We have tried to ensure that there are sufficient seats for our regular congregation (singles, pairs and small groups) so you may be asked to sit in specific seats
  • There will be isolated seating for those who are in the more vulnerable categories (please let us know if you need to use these)
  • The kitchens will be closed, so please bring own water if required
  • Bibles will not be available so please bring your own if you would like to follow the readings
  • No sheets will be handed out at the door – we will continue to provide notice sheets as we have been doing by email or delivery to homes. Any service sheets required will be placed on the seats and you are asked to take them home at the end of the service
  • Services will be short (with no singing allowed) to minimise time spent together in a confined space
  • At the end of the service you may be asked to wait in your seat until directed to leave so that we can maintain social distancing
  • Please do not congregate in groups to chat at the end of the service – for now we will have to be content with meeting together for worship
  • At the moment there is no government requirement to wear face coverings where social distancing can be complied with but this will be kept under review. Whether to wear face coverings or not is a personal decision
