God gives many gifts to his Church and with those gifts comes a responsibility to use them. The Pastoral Team believes that God has called us to share in his work by exercising a Pastoral Ministry in the Ecumenical Parish of Hallwood and that he is equipping and guiding us as we obey that call. We therefore act in obedience to the command in the New Testament:
"As good stewards of the varied gifts given you by God, let each use the gift they have received in service to others."
1 Peter 4v10
We have been commissioned as members of the Pastoral Team and act with the support and under the direction of the Staff Team and the Church Council.
We can offer:
- the opportunity to talk about anything that concerns you
- support in times of difficulty
- someone to pray with you
- a non-judgemental attitude
- time and space for you in a busy world
We commit ourselves to respect confidences and to be people who give the time and space to listen - both to you and to God.
We will continue to do God's work prayerfully by asking Him to give us vision and courage, listening ears and hearing hearts. We will faithfully seek to deepen our knowledge and love of God.
Caring for each other is something to which all God's people and called. The Pastoral Team believe that they have received a particular call to this ministry but that does not mean that they are the only people you can talk to, or the only people who can pray with you.
Each person in the congregation is assigned a member of the Pastoral Team (although this does not exclude you from going to see someone else). The members of the Pastoral Team are:
- Britt Bullock
- John Drake
- Wendy Drake
- Ann-Marie Jones
- Joan Lucock
- Rev. Lisa MacInnes
- Lynne Percival
- Claire Pitts
- Lis Rushton
- Anita Ventham
